Thomas created impromptuSF in 2012 because he got tired of sitting in a long series of rehearsals and determined that things really aren't getting better, so we should just have the concert now. Additionally, he wanted to pick the music, so he started a baroque band -- alienating all of his friends and husband with "too many notes.”
Part of the idea was not having a conductor. Having subsequently picked up the baton proved that his value system was "flexible" and that, really, anyone can successfully wave their arms in front of people -- if it is the right group of people.
He began the process of registering impromptuSF 2018 as non-profit corporation because 1) it was time to get legit (we were on hiatus for six years to be fair) -and- 2) was tired of answering NO to the question "is this massive monetary gift tax deductible?"
We are happy to report YES: indeed it is now tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consider a donation now in any amount.
Vita remains a woman of intrique and mystery.
